My Yoga Story

I first discovered yoga as a teenager, and was instantly hooked. I found that yoga helped with my mental health and self-esteem, and I became fascinated with the thought of “Why does yoga just work?”⁠

I practiced many styles of yoga and went to as many different classes as I could. I decided to further my knowledge by studying a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, still wanting a tangible answer why this ancient practice was so powerful. I travelled to India on a placement, gaining unparalleled insight into global mental health treatment and exploring how ancient Eastern methods like yoga and meditation can work harmoniously with modern medicine to promote positive mental well-being. ⁠

My fascination and desire to learn about Yoga continued to grow, as Yoga has helped me to navigate through hormones, health, relationships, pregnancy, birth and loss. It became apparent that the most important thing was to share my love and knowledge with this practice as yoga is about connection.

 

In 2024 I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Soul Sanctuary Studios and got to teaching as soon as I could. As a busy working Mum, my classes value individual empowerment to explore options within the practice that align with what you need on that day. 

Jodie Winter Yoga is more than just a yoga class; it's a sanctuary of self-care and growth. My mission is to make yoga accessible to everyone, offering a safe space to explore the transformative power of yoga. Join us on this journey to discover a healthier, happier you.
